Tribune, Sun and Guardian ), and it also interrogates the strategies, methods deployed by traffic robbers. The research analyse about 167 traffic robbery cases as reported by various five newspaper publications in the space of eight years. The paper implored secondary research from newspaper publications, and also content analysis for the research. Routine activity theory was used to explain the phenomenon that exists between the offender and the victim. Dispossessing the victims' phones and other valuables was the common method used by offenders. Consequently, the victims reported that their experience was driven by fear.
