4 Analysis of Gamma-Ray Spectra Using Levenberg-Marquardt Method
Authors: A. H. Fatah, A. H. Ahmed
Abstract:
Levenberg-Marquardt method (LM) was proposed to be applied as a non-linear least-square fitting in the analysis of a natural gamma-ray spectrum that was taken by the Hp (Ge) detector. The Gaussian function that composed of three components, main Gaussian, a step background function and tailing function in the lowenergy side, has been suggested to describe each of the y-ray lines mathematically in the spectrum. The whole spectrum has been analyzed by determining the energy and relative intensity for the strong y-ray lines. Keywords: Gamma-Ray, Spectrum analysis, Non-linear leastsquare fitting.

Authors: Binyamin Yusoff, Imran Taib, Lazim Abdullah, Abd Fatah Wahab
Abstract:
Intuitionistic fuzzy sets as proposed by Atanassov, have gained much attention from past and latter researchers for applications in various fields. Similarity measures between intuitionistic fuzzy sets were developed afterwards. However, it does not cater the conflicting behavior of each element evaluated. We therefore made some modification to the similarity measure of IFS by considering conflicting concept to the model. In this paper, we concentrate on Zhang and Fu-s similarity measures for IFSs and some examples are given to validate these similarity measures. A simple modification to Zhang and Fu-s similarity measures of IFSs was proposed to find the best result according to the use of degree of indeterminacy. Finally, we mark up with the application to real decision making problems. Keywords: Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, similarity measures, multicriteriadecision making.

Authors: Hanan Mahmoud Ezzat Mahmoud, Alaa Abd El Fatah Hefnawy
Abstract:
In this paper, we present a system for content-based retrieval of large database of classified satellite images, based on user's relevance feedback (RF).Through our proposed system, we divide each satellite image scene into small subimages, which stored in the database. The modified radial basis functions neural network has important role in clustering the subimages of database according to the Euclidean distance between the query feature vector and the other subimages feature vectors. The advantage of using RF technique in such queries is demonstrated by analyzing the database retrieval results. Keywords: content-based image retrieval, large database of image, RBF neural net, relevance feedback

Authors: Azlina Abu Bakar, Abdul Fatah Wan Sidek
Abstract:
Well-being has been given special emphasis in quality of life. It involves living a meaningful, life satisfaction, stability and happiness in life. Well-being also concerns the satisfaction of physical, psychological, social needs and demands of an individual. The purpose of this study was to validate three-factor measurement model of well-being using structural equation modeling (SEM). The conceptions of well-being measured such dimensions as physical, psychological and social well-being. This study was done based on a total sample of 650 adolescents from east-coast of peninsular Malaysia. The Well-Being Scales which was adapted from [1] was used in this study. The items were hypothesized a priori to have nonzero loadings on all dimensions in the model. The findings of the SEM demonstrated that it is a good fitting model which the proposed model fits the driving theory; (x2df = 1.268; GFI = .994; CFI = .998; TLI= .996; p = .255; RMSEA = .021). Composite reliability (CR) was .93 and average variance extracted (AVE) was 58%. The model in this study fits with the sample of data and well-being is important to bring sustainable development to the mainstream. Keywords: Adolescence, Structural Equation Modeling, Sustainable Development, Well-Being.
