Our\r\npurpose is to retune the power system stabilizer (PSS1A) parameters\r\nin Unitrol D produced by ABB\u2013 was installed in 1995in Benghazi\r\nNorth Power Plants (BNPPs) at General Electricity Company of\r\nLibya (GECOL). The optimal values of the power system stabilizer\r\n(PSS1A) parameters are determined off-line by a particle swarm\r\noptimization technique (PSO). The objective is to damp the local and\r\ninter-area modes of oscillations that occur following power system\r\ndisturbances.
