\r\n(VLC) technology has been subjected to intensive investigation,
\r\nevaluation, and lately, deployed in the context of convoy-based
\r\napplications for Intelligent Transportations Systems (ITS). The
\r\ntechnology limitations were defined and supported by different
\r\nsolutions proposals to enhance the crucial alignment and mobility
\r\nlimitations. In this paper, we propose the incorporation of VLC
\r\ntechnology and Lane-Centering (LC) technique to assure the
\r\nVLC-connectivity by keeping the autonomous vehicle aligned to
\r\nthe lane center using vision-based lane detection in a convoy-based
\r\nformation. Such combination can ensure the optical communication
\r\nconnectivity with a lateral error less than 30 cm. As soon as the
\r\nroad lanes are detectable, the evaluated system showed stable
\r\nbehavior independently from the inter-vehicle distances and
\r\nwithout the need for any exchanged information of the remote
\r\nvehicles. The evaluation of the proposed system is verified using
\r\nVLC prototype and an empirical result of LC running application
\r\nover 60 km in Madrid M40 highway.","references":"[1] S.
