Here we introduce a novel technique for HLA typing from NGS data based on read-mapping using a comprehensive reference panel containing all known HLA alleles and de novo assembly of the gene-specific short reads. An accurate HLA typing at high-digit resolution was achieved when it was tested on publicly available NGS data, outperforming other newly-developed tools such as HLAminer and PHLAT. }, journal = {International Journal of Bioengineering and Life Sciences}, volume = {9}, number = {3}, year = {2015}, pages = {263 - 271}, ee = {https://publications.waset.org/pdf/10000791}, url = {https://publications.waset.org/vol/99}, bibsource = {https://publications.waset.org/}, issn = {eISSN: 1307-6892}, publisher = {World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology}, index = {Open Science Index 99, 2015}, }
