This paper presents observations on the early
\r\nsupervised internships in Psychology, currently called basic
\r\ninternships in Brazil, and its importance in professional training. The
\r\nwork is an experience report and focuses on the Professional training,
\r\nillustrated by the reality of a Brazilian institution, used as a case
\r\nstudy. It was developed from the authors' experience as academic
\r\nsupervisors of this kind of practice throughout this undergraduate
\r\ncourse, combined with aspects investigated in the post-doctoral
\r\nresearch of one of them. Theoretical references on the subject and
\r\nrelated national legislation are analyzed, as well as reports of students
\r\nwho experienced at least one semester of this type of practice,
\r\narticulated to the observations of the authors. The results demonstrate
\r\nthe importance of the early supervised internships as a way of
\r\ncreating opportunities for the students of a first contact with the
\r\nprofessional reality and the practice of psychologists in different
\r\nfields of insertion, preparing them for further experiments that require
\r\nmore involvement in activities of training and practices in
