The purpose of this study is to compare Self
\r\nCompacting Concrete (SCC) and Conventional Concrete (CC) in
\r\nterms of their capillary water absorption. During the comparison of
\r\nSCC and CC, the effects of two different factors were also
\r\ninvestigated: concrete strength class and curing condition. In the
\r\nstudy, both SCC and CC were produced in three different concrete
\r\nclasses (C25, C50 and C70) and the other parameter (i.e. curing
\r\ncondition) was determined as two levels: moisture and air curing. It
\r\nwas observed that, for both curing environments and all strength
\r\nclasses of concrete, SCCs had lower capillary water absorption values
\r\nthan that of CCs. It was also detected that, for both SCC and CC,
\r\ncapillary water absorption values of samples kept in moisture curing
\r\nwere significantly lower than that of samples stored in air curing.
\r\nAdditionally, it was determined that capillary water absorption values
\r\nfor both SCC and CC decrease with increasing strength class of
\r\nconcrete for both curing environments.<\/p>\r\n","references":"[1] C. Parra, M. Valcuende, and F.
