A method which allows a diabetic quadriplegic patient
\r\nthat has had four limb amputations (above the knee and elbow) to
\r\nself-administer injections of insulin has been designed. The aim of
\r\nthis research project is to improve a quadriplegic patient’s selfmanagement,
\r\naffected by diabetes, by designing a suitable device for
\r\nself-administering insulin.
\r\nThe quadriplegic patient affected by diabetes has to be able to selfadminister
\r\ninsulin safely and independently to guarantee stable
\r\nhealthy conditions. The device also should be designed to adapt to a
\r\nnumber of different varying personal characteristics such as height
\r\nand body weight.<\/p>\r\n","references":"[1] Jenni Middleton. (19 November, 2007). The administration of\r\nmedicines.
