Red River Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) is a tree
\r\nof the genus Eucalyptus widely distributed in Algeria and in the
\r\nworld. The value of its aromatic secondary metabolites offers new
\r\nperspectives in the pharmaceutical industry. This strategy can
\r\ncontribute to the sustainable development of our country. Preliminary
\r\ntests performed on the essential oil of Eucalyptus camendulensis
\r\nshowed that this oil has antibacterial activity vis-à-vis the bacterial
\r\nstrains (Enterococcus feacalis, Enterobacter cloaceai, Proteus
\r\nmicrosilis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Pseudomonas
\r\naeruginosa) and antifungic (Fusarium sporotrichioide and Fusarium
\r\ngraminearum). The culture medium used was nutrient broth Muller
\r\nHinton. The interaction between the bacteria and the essential oil is
\r\nexpressed by a zone of inhibition with diameters of MIC indirectly
\r\nexpression of. And we used the PDA medium to determine the fungal
\r\nactivity. The extraction of the aromatic fraction (essentially oilhydrolat)
\r\nof the fresh aerian part of the Eucalyptus camendulensis
\r\nwas performed by hydrodistillation. The average essential oil yield is
\r\n0.99%. The antimicrobial and fungal study of the essential oil and
\r\nhydrosol showed a high inhibitory effect on the growth of pathogens.<\/p>\r\n","references":"[1] A. F. Barr\u00e9ro, M.M. Herrador, P. Arteaga, J. Quitz, M. Aksira, F.\r\nMellouki and S.
