This study analyzes characteristics determining
\r\nmember’s willingness to invest in cooperatives using ordered logit
\r\nmodel. The data were collected in a field survey among 122
\r\ncooperative members in north-central China. The descriptive analysis
\r\nof survey evidence suggests that cooperatives in China generally
\r\nhaving poor ability to deliver the processing services related to
\r\nproduct package, grading, and storage, performing worse in
\r\nprofitability, inability of providing returns to capital and obtaining
\r\nagricultural loan. The regression results demonstrate that members’
\r\nfarm size, their satisfaction with cooperative price preferential
\r\nservices, attitudes toward cooperative operational scale and
\r\ndevelopment potential have statistically significant impact on
\r\nwillingness to invest.<\/p>\r\n","references":"
