The OpenModelica simulation environment has been employed to build the so called causal model, while the glucose-insulin model parameters were adjusted to fit recorded mean data of a diabetic patient database. Model results under different conditions of a three-meal glucose and exogenous insulin ingestion patterns have been obtained. This simulation model can be useful to evaluate glucose-insulin performance in several circumstances, including insulin infusion algorithms in open-loop and decision support systems in closed-loop. }, journal = {International Journal of Bioengineering and Life Sciences}, volume = {11}, number = {9}, year = {2017}, pages = {672 - 677}, ee = {https://publications.waset.org/pdf/10007938}, url = {https://publications.waset.org/vol/129}, bibsource = {https://publications.waset.org/}, issn = {eISSN: 1307-6892}, publisher = {World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology}, index = {Open Science Index 129, 2017}, }
